Overview

Mattia Filippo Caleca is an Associate at LEXIA, specializing in business criminal law. He provides legal assistance and defense to individuals and companies in complex proceedings, with particular focus on economic, corporate and financial crimes, as well as on corporate liability pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001.

 

Mattia graduated in Law from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, with a thesis in cybercrime (“Ransomware: criminal and criminological profiles”), developing from the outset an interest in business criminal law and new forms of technological crime. During his studies he participated in Legal Clinics in criminal law and international criminal law, achieving excellent evaluations.

He gained professional experience in highly qualified environments, including the Technical Secretariat of the Banking and Financial Ombudsman at the Bank of Italy and the international law firm DS Avocats, where he worked in civil and commercial litigation teams and in arbitration, also in international contexts. Before joining LEXIA he practiced at Studio Legale Caleca, developing solid experience in criminal law.

His approach is oriented towards strategic litigation management and criminal risk prevention, with particular attention to companies’ needs and the complexity of economic-financial dynamics.

Experience

Business criminal law Assistance and defense of individuals and legal entities in proceedings relating to corporate, financial and economic crimes. He manages all stages of criminal proceedings, providing strategic advice aimed at risk mitigation and protection of the client’s interests.

Compliance and corporate liability (Legislative Decree 231/2001) Advisory on administrative liability of entities, with particular reference to economic and environmental predicate offences. He supports companies in managing criminal risk and relations with judicial authorities.

Criminal litigation and advisory Judicial and extrajudicial activity in criminal law, including drafting of pleadings, opinions and defense strategies also in complex and multidisciplinary contexts.
