Milan, June 20, 2022 – Lexia Avvocati advised the partners and management of Wopta Assicurazioni, a new “phygital” insurance agency featuring an innovative proprietary technology platform. Wopta is an insurtech MGA that distributes and manages through its platform policies structured for Wopta by selected insurance companies. Up to date, Wopta has partnered with Munich Re Italia, Global Assistance S.p.A. and REVO S.p.A. (Elba Assicurazioni).

Lexia advised Wopta on the regulatory aspects related to the structuring of the insurtech platform, as well as on a €3 million pre-seed round, with a team composed of Managing Partner Francesco Dagnino, Partner Angelo Messore, Senior Associate Fabio Luongo and Associate Carlotta Mastria.

Wopta’s capital includes founder Vincenzo Macaione (with 60 percent), top management (5 percent), Cordifin (a holding company headed by the Cordioli family, entrepreneurs in the aluminum, zinc and copper sector), Key Capital srl (a venture capital investment company founded by Giorgio Di Stefano), CNA-Confederazione Nazionale Artigiani (with 6 percent, through the vehicle Aurica srl), and also business angels and private investors organized in club deals.
