Claudio La Valva is a tax lawyer and a professor of tax law at LUMSA – Palermo campus.
He has previously taught Tax Law and International and European Tax Law at the University of Palermo – Department of Law. He holds a PhD in “Taxation, Contracts and Business” from the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” (29th cycle) and a PhD with Doctor Europaeus mention in “Human Rights: Evolution, Protection and Limits” from the University of Palermo – Department of Law (23rd cycle).
He has taught in the master’s program in International Tax Law organized by LUMSA at the Guardia di Finanza’s School of Economic and Financial Police (Rome), at the University of Palermo, and at LUMSA – Palermo campus. He also participated in the 6th, 7th, and 8th editions of the Summer School “Towards European International Tax Law” (Jean Monnet Programme).
He is a member of the Latin American Institute of Tax Law (I.L.A.D.T.), a member of C.I.R.T.E., and part of the editorial boards of several legal journals.
He took part in A.I.P.S.D.T. working groups on digital taxation and online gaming taxation.
He has published extensively on domestic, European, and international tax law.
He holds two specialized master’s degrees in business and self-employment income taxation, and in tax assessment and litigation.
He completed his legal specialization at the “G. Scaduto” School of the University of Palermo.
Graduated from LUMSA – Palermo with full marks (110 cum laude).
He is a member of the Palermo Bar and practices tax law.
