As Group General Counsel of Enel, he has led, developed, and managed a high-performance and skilled team of more than 700 people across 32 countries. The main legal challenges addressed under his leadership have included M&A, corporate and structured finance, corporate governance, compliance, international and ICSID litigation, as well as climate change and ESG “transformational” governance. On the latter, he led until June 2023 the UN Global Compact Think Lab, launched during the UN General Assembly in 2021.

During his tenure at Enel Group, he contributed significantly to the company’s transformation from a domestic entity to a multinational group, facilitating the integration of teams from diverse geographies.

Holding a Ph.D. in Company Law and having lectured at Italian universities, he has gained legal expertise across various jurisdictions, including the US, EU, UK, Latin American countries, India, Australia, and South Africa. He has served on the boards of international listed companies and led the corporate governance integration process for a group consisting of 14 listed companies, working with different regulatory stock exchange frameworks.

He firmly believes that integrating legal expertise into business strategy is essential for sustainable growth. Sound risk management not only enhances business profitability but also strengthens relationships with stakeholders. For him, innovation and digitalization are the pillars of an efficient, business-oriented legal department.
