Maria Ludovica Lagalla graduated with honors and distinction in Law from the University of Palermo, with a thesis in legal philosophy entitled “Critiques of Traditional Justifications of Punishment and Restorative Justice”, following a research period at the Universitat de València.

Immediately after graduation, she was awarded a PhD position at the “Cesare Beccaria” Department of Legal Sciences at the University of Milan. During her doctoral studies, she spent a period as a visiting scholar at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, took part as a speaker in numerous national and international conferences, and published academic articles in peer-reviewed journals, including top-tier (Class A) publications. She was awarded her PhD with honors. Her academic path continues through her appointment as subject expert in legal philosophy at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

Before joining LEXIA, she gained experience at the Office of the State Attorney in Milan and at a criminal law firm in Palermo.

Maria Ludovica Lagalla is currently part of the Litigation, Arbitration & Legal Risk Mitigation team, where she primarily handles civil litigation, assisting both Italian and international clients.

She speaks Italian, English, and Spanish.
