LEXIA assisted Cryptosmart in obtaining authorisation to operate as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
The authorisation was granted by Consob, after consulting the Bank of Italy on matters falling within its respective remit, and represents a strategic milestone in the consolidation of the Italian crypto-asset services market. It will enable Cryptosmart to continue and further develop its operations within the new European regulatory framework.
The LEXIA team advising on the matter comprised Managing Partner Francesco Dagnino, Partner Angelo Messore and Senior Associate Carlotta Zola, who provided legal and regulatory assistance throughout the entire authorisation process.
The transaction further confirms LEXIA’s experience in advising fintech and digital asset operators, particularly in relation to authorisation procedures under the MiCA Regulation and the regulatory compliance requirements applicable to crypto-asset service providers.
