LEXIA assisted bunq in launching the Italian IBAN through its branch in Italy, providing legal and regulatory support in connection with the transaction.
The LEXIA team was led by Partner Angelo Messore, with the support of Senior Associate Carlotta Zola, who handled the regulatory and compliance aspects related to the introduction of the new service in the Italian market.
The initiative represents an important milestone in bunq’s growth and consolidation path in Italy. Thanks to the launch of the Italian IBAN, users will be able to access local banking details, which complement the other five European IBANs already available within the application.
The transaction confirms the ongoing development of the digital financial services sector and the evolution of mobile banking solutions in Europe, helping to make innovative banking services increasingly accessible and fully compliant with the applicable regulatory framework.
