Music award to best-selling artist of the year is the first phygital NFT in music history

Milan, 26 January 2023 – Lexia assisted the Trentino-based digital company specializing in non-fungible tokens, Brots, in all the contractual, IP and copyright aspects related to the creation of the annual certification NFTs awarded by FIMI – Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana.

For the first time in the history of the Italian charts, FIMI annual certifications assigned to the best-selling albums and singles in 2022, took also the form of NFTs, thanks to the use of blockchain technology.

Concurrently with the physical one, the award in NFT format to the best-selling artist of the year was also minted.

The innovative project that gave birth to the first phygital NFT in the history of Italian music charts also involved the Digital Content Protection company and FPM – Federazione contro la Pirateria Musicale e Multimediale.

Lexia assisted Brots with a team composed of Senior Associate Giulietta Minucci and Associates Filippo Belfatto and Jessica Giussani.
