Arbitrations and class actions on the rise: law firms expand their focus on litigation

Silvia Cossu was interviewed by Massimiliano Carbonaro as part of a feature published in Il Sole 24 Ore, focusing on the evolution of litigation practices and law firms’ growing investment in this area.

During the interview, Silvia outlined the approach adopted by LEXIA in response to the changes affecting dispute resolution. The role of the litigator is no longer confined to the contentious phase of a relationship but increasingly extends to the prevention and early management of potential risks.

“In the past, litigators were involved only once a dispute had arisen. Today, however, there is a different level of awareness. Their involvement begins at the negotiation stage, with a view to preventing and mitigating litigation risk. Our Firm recognised this change and invested in a team that today comprises strategic litigation specialists.”

From this perspective, LEXIA’s Litigation team assists clients not only in managing disputes but also in developing negotiation and contractual strategies, with the aim of identifying areas of risk at an early stage and reducing exposure to potential litigation.
