LEXIA’s Counsel, Pietro Massimo Marangio is a lawyer with more than twenty years of experience in the regulation of the banking, financial and insurance industries, having also provided legal advice in the interdisciplinary matters between these compartments (such as bancassurance investment agreements by insurance companies issuing unit-linked life insurance policies in open architecture fund structures; structuring of complex bonds underlying internal insurance funds or index-linked life insurance policies; remote offering of investment services by banks; asset management platforms and solutions for private banking and private insurance).
He has acquired many years of distinctive experience especially in the field of collective asset management, with the establishment of mutual funds, reserved SICAFs and obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals of private equity and real estate vehicles, and in the insurance sector, having actively participated, inter alia, in one of the largest cross-border acquisitions of international financial-insurance conglomerates in the years of the great financial crisis (2007 – 2009).
Specializing in complex multi-jurisdictional transactions related to financial institutions, he has been recommended by “Practical Law Company (PLC) | Which Lawyer?” (formerly Thomson Reuters Group, now Refinitiv) among Italian lawyers experienced in insurance law (2010 – 2014) and selected by Milano Finanza – Class Editori CNBC, in “The Best Lawyers and the Best Law Firms: Corporate,” among the best Italian lawyers active in the finance sector (2020 and 2021).
